Dr. Joshi is Senior Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist in Nepal Medicity Hospital, Dr Joshi is in charge of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Nepal Mediciti Hospital. Following her MBBS from Sylhet Osmani Medical College Bangladesh and MRCPCh in UK, she completed her PhD in neonatology form Cardiff University, UK. She is a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics, UK and Nepal Paediatric Society. Dr. Joshi has more than 10 years of clinical experience as a pediatrician/neonatologist, with special focus on newborn and maternal care. For the last seven years, Dr. Joshi has worked as the Neonatal Intensive Care Incharge at the Patan Hospital. She has a strong research background, with 10 publications in national and international peer reviewed journals, multiple presentations at international clinical meetings, and has experience in various research projects. In 2006, Dr. Joshi was awarded the David Ferguson Neonatal Award for Best Junior Doctor while working as a neonatal registrar in Royal Gwent Hospital, UK. In 2007, she was appointed as the Walport Clinical Academic Research Fellow to complete her PhD in neonatology in the UK. Dr. Joshi also successfully obtained a Research and Development Small Grant from the University Hospital of Wales. While working as Assistant Professort in Paediatics in PAtan Acadamy of Helath Sciences, she has taught medical students, supervised students and interns in their quality improvement audits and researches, served as a tutor in the Pediatric Advanced Life Support training (bi-annual) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (triannual), co-coordinated the Neonatal Resuscitation Program training, coached the Comprehensive Newborn Care ToT for junior doctors and nurses on Stabilization of Sick Newborns, and led breastfeeding trainings. Dr. Joshi has strong experience in developing multi-level clinical guidelines for Nepal. She is a member of the Nepal Pediatric Society Newborn Committee, and helped to develop (2015) the Operational Guideline and Clinical Protocol for Strengthening Newborn Services in District and Regional Hospitals in Nepal.
